Write my notice

The English notice is free. The Indian-language notices are a one-time purchase.

What the notice must say (Rule 3)

  • Each item of personal data you ask for, listed one by one.
  • Each purpose, and what it lets you do for the person.
  • A link where consent can be withdrawn as easily as it was given (section 6(4)).
  • How to use the rights to access, correct, erase and nominate, and how to raise a grievance (sections 11 to 14).
  • That the person can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

The dates

  • The Rules were published on 13 November 2025.
  • The rules on Consent Managers apply from 13 November 2026.
  • Rules 3 and 5 to 16 apply from 13 May 2027: notices, security, breach intimation, the data of children and the rights of Data Principals.

Your customer chooses the language

Section 5(3) of the Act gives every person the option to read your notice in English or in any language of the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. The kit writes it in these languages today:

Not yet: Maithili, Konkani, Dogri, Bodo, Manipuri, Santali, Assamese, Kannada, Odia, Kashmiri, Sanskrit, Sindhi. Each legal word in a notice comes from an official Government of India source (the Hindi text of the Rules, the CSTT administrative glossaries). These languages get their notice when such a source is found, never from a machine translation.
